Utilizing a single muffler arrangement, the fully titanium Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust System is designed to be modular. In its basic mode, all exhaust gases flow through the muffler, giving you a deeper rumble of an exhaust note compared to stock without any drone. However, the muffler system is built in such a way that by replacing a blocking plate with the optional Akrapovic sound kit valve system the driver is able to noticeably increase the volume of the exhaust at the press of a button. Once activated, the majority of the exhaust gases route through the muffler bypass outlets. Even when installed on an otherwise stock vehicle, power gains are achieved and weight reduction realized.
Completing the look is a set of four exquisite tailpipes in carbon fiber. The tailpipes are the most visible part of the exhaust system, and that’s why Akrapovic dedicates particular attention to them. In order to satisfy the most discriminating tastes, they have created handcrafted carbon fiber tailpipes for this BMW 1-Series M Coupe application.
An optional Akrapovic Sound Kit (P-HF878) is also available to have complete control over the different sound settings no matter the vehicle mode.
