I wanted to add a 55 - 57 Thunderbird hood scoop to a 56 Crown Vic but was unable to locate the part in steel. Another option was to find a donor Tbird hood but that was very expensive. I purchased an aftermarket reproduction of the hood scoop grill (included in auction) (worth $75.00) and made a jig to produce the scoop you see here.Since I was unable to locate this item perhaps there are others in the same situation. The scoop is made from 18 gauge steel and cut with a CNC plasma cutter. All seams have been welded both sides with a MIG. Scoop will be bead blasted and painted with acid etching primer (DuPont).
Scoop is designed to be welded to the final hood. There is some minor metalwork required before final prime and paint. The scoop in its current form is non-functional. However it would require minor trimming of the front fascia to make it functional.
NOTE: This auction is for scoop and scoop grille only. Hoods shown in pics are not included.
