Repair your damaged door strap ends to new condition. Remove the door strapand drill out the small rivet holding the plastic bracket. Use a 1/8" drill bit, drilling on the small end of the rivet.Insertthe metal end of the strap into thenew plastic mounting,Lineup the holes and screw a 1/4" metal screw into the rivet hole.Make sure two pieces fit flattogether. Attachthe finished strap back on the door (make sure the tab is in the hole in thedoor panel) and snap the Cappiece in place Whenassembling be careful not to force anything. When the strap is properlyinstalled,holes aligned, andreattached properly to thedoor panel, the Caps will snap on with moderate pressure.
