POV Street Racing – Roll and Dig

This video is very rare. It is so skillfully produced that you get a huge dose of street racing (roll racing and dig racing) with a personal point-of-view and a Hollywood level of quality. These camera angles and locations are so realistic that you can almost smell the exhaust and feel the g-force.

I doesn’t take long to realize that this is a video focused on a red Camaro (and the Camaro in general). While it is loaded with bodacious bowties that stretch the limitations of street legal transportation, there are also some pretty impressive Fords and even an import or two.

The action begins with a 2000 Z28. It is running a Ford 9-inch rear differential (3.90 gear ratio) and a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is a (stock bottom end) 5.3-liter LS with a 228R camshaft and ported cylinder heads/intake. It also has a single (150hp) kit of nitrous. In the first race (roll racing) this Camaro takes on a Dodge Viper with a cat-back exhaust and a stock Corvette C7. With no nitrous, the Camaro narrowly takes the victory in 3-wide action.

Next up for the red Camaro is a dig race. The competition is a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V that has undergone some performance mods. The supercharged engine has been built with cylinder head and camshaft upgrades and the upper and lower pulleys have been changed. It is using E85 fuel.

The camera work in this race is outstanding. The Cadillac gets the better of the Camaro in the dig race but the Camaro exacts revenge in the ensuing roll race.

There are numerous other races on this clip. I cannot say enough about the quality and creativity of this clip. It is must see.
