Corvette ZR1 LPE vs Viper SRT10 Supercharged

This is a heads-up contest between two of the quickest American supercars of the modern era (ever). In the right lane, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is legendary in its own right but add to it a performance package from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) and you have a beast of a car, on the dragstrip or on the road course. Now, take a look in the left lane. There you will see a legendary Dodge Viper SRT10, with supercharged forced air induction for added horsepower.

Despite having two fewer cylinders than the Viper, the ‘Vette out muscles the competition in this video. The ZR1 package Corvette (often referred to as the “Blue Devil”) features a 6.2-liter LS9 engine that is rated at 638-horsepower and 604 lb.-ft. of torque. That is prior to the radical LPE modification package that includes computerized engine blueprinting and balancing, cylinder head porting and polishing, camshaft and fuel injector upgrades, and the addition of a Lingenfelter GT9 supercharger with twin intercoolers. The LPE modification nets approximately 750 total horsepower.
