All Motor Supercar Shootout – C8 Corvette Z06 vs. Porsche, Audi and Ducati

Here we have a gathering of the world’s fastest naturally aspirated, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive supercars – and one exceptional racing bike.

The top seeded competitor in this contest is the Ducati (15,500 RPM) Panigale V4 SP2. Representing the four-cylinder (1.1-liter) contingent, this top-of-the-line track-focused superbike is capable of producing 210hp and 91 lb.-ft. of torque. At a weight of 429-pounds (with rider), the Ducati can cut through the quarter-mile in 9.5-seconds @ 153 mph.

In the runner-up spot is the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. As the most outrageous Corvette yet, the C8 Z06 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter flat plane V8 that can wind to 8,600 RPM and produce 670hp (460 lb.-ft. of torque). The latest ‘Vette can turn the quarter-mile in 10.5-seconds @ 131 mph at a curb weight of 3,670-pounds.

Coming in a close third is the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3. Powered by a 502hp (346 lb.-ft. of torque) 4.0-liter H6 engine, the GT3 tips the scale at 3,220-pounds. This fine example of German craftsmanship can crush the quarter-mile in 10.9-seconds @ 129 mph.

Finally, the 2022 Audi R8 V10 Performance Spyder RWD. Also made in Germany, the R8 shares a powertrain platform with the Lamborghini Huracan. That translates into a 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 562hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. This beauty weighs in at 3,650-pounds and turns the quarter-mile in 11.4-seconds @ 125 mph.

Let’s get these superbeasts on the track and see what’s cooking.
