McLaren vs. Porsche vs. Ducati – Standing Mile

July 5th, 2019

Like a scene from a science fiction film, today’s contest features some of the most outlandish vehicles ever produced.

First is the McLaren P1. The P1 is all racing – all the time. At the heart of this savage beast is a 3.8-liter twin turbocharged gas burner with a lithium-ion battery powered electric motor. Output is estimated at 903hp and 664 lb.-ft. of torque. This rear-wheel drive hypercar uses a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Gross vehicle weight is 3,200-pounds and the price tag is about $1.1-million (U.S.).

The Porsche 918 Spyder is all-wheel drive. Also a hypercar, the Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 (N/A) with four-electric motors (one on each corner). This German powerhouse is capable of producing 875hp and 944 lb.-ft. of torque. It weighs in at 3,600-pounds and has a sticker price of $730,000 U.S.

The bike is one of the fastest two-wheelers on Earth. The Ducati 1199 Superlegerra (Superlight) is adequately powered by an 1,100cc engine that can produce more than 200hp. This thing is fast!

When these three superstars line up for the standing mile – hang onto your hats! Check it out.
