You are buying2 new Denso purple relays for your IMA battery fan which may fix your IMA code P1449 referring to overheating. You don\'t need to take the battery out, just open the cover (following instructions how to turn off both batteries) and pull those two relays (last picture, red arrow).

If your hybrid battery or battery sticks have been recently replaced but the IMA light started coming back this could be your solution like it was in my case. I have been driving my Insight (182kmi) over 2 years with no IMA light with these relays.

Of course you need to check and replace bad sticks in your battery if it is deteriorating. If your battery have such bad sticks the code will come back even with these new relays. But try first these relays, who knows you may drive another couple of years before you need to change some sticks. Do not try pre-owned relays for this purpose, you need to know for sure that the fan problem is fixed and the code comes (if it comes) from bad sticks. In my case I knew that I had a good recently replaced battery but the code kept coming even with fresh OEM relays. OEM black relays have low resistance coils made of a thicker wire and are cheap. My relays belong to the newer generation of relays with much thinner wires in their coils and are more expensive. All car makers are replacing their relays with such high resistance relays in newer models now. It sounds like a paradox, fresh OEM relays did not solve the problem, but these non-OEM relays did. I am not trying to back up this solution with any science, this was a practical error and trial solution for me.

Also replacing just one relay may not work, because the relay sockets are not independently wired. Please consider replacing both relays at the same time.

The price is for two new relays.. Junction box, and else are not included in the listing, they are shown for reference.
