Volant intake can be considered as a true "cold-air" intake because of the enclosed air box the kit comes with. Volants cross-link polyethylene box is engineered to each specific application for low restriction to increase air volume. The lid of the box is an embossed and polished lid featuring a neoprene foam backing for a great sound insulation and offers a simple yet, visual appealing (older applications and low production air intake kits will include a carbon fiber looking lid). Unlike, an open element filter and heat shield, the box insulates and protects the filter from engine heat, moisture, dust and debris while providing colder air to the engine for an increase in horsepower.

Volant intakes will come with a cleanable and reusable Pro5 filter, consisting of 4-cotton gauze layers and 1-synthetic layer, for great filtration and air flow. Unlike the factory filter, it will reduce air restriction and increases engine output by using precision pleat geometry, optimizing airflow throughout the entire intake system. Some kits will include Volant air ducts which are also cross-link polyethylene, sculptured to replace the restrictive factory inlets by enlarging the diameter of the inlet and avoiding awkward bends. This will improve airflow velocity and throttle response. The picture above will indicate if the kit includes a seperate air duct or not.
