Our most popular product, the TIPM Plug-In Relay System Lite (US Patent #10,139,450) is a reliable long-term solution to bypass faulty fuel pump relays on many 2007-2020 Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and VW vehicles (see our complete vehicle list below). This is the lite version of our TIPM Plug-In Relay System, offering the same ability to bypass a faulty fuel pump relay to continue driving normally, test your fuel pump relay, provide LED feedback for the Run/Start signal, and indicate when power is provided to your fuel pump.Installation is easy and takes less than 5 minutes. There is no need to cut harness wires, remove the TIPM, visit your dealer, or reprogram the TIPM.It also comes with a30 day return policyfor a full refund on the part, so there is no risk if you find the fuel pump relay is not the problem.
If your vehicle fails to start (acts likes it\'s out of gas) and/or your fuel pump continues pumping after turning the vehicle off (draining your battery), you likely have a faulty fuel pump relay. Fuel pump relays are soldered to one of six circuit boards located deep inside your fuse box (TIPM), so they are very difficult to access and change. Our TIPM Plug-In Relay System Lite is a long-term solution designed from the ground up by our engineering team to resolve fuel pump relay issues.
30 Day Return Policy

Money back guarantee (return for a full refund, less shipping, within 30 days of receipt if you\'re not satisfied or it does not solve your problem). We are not like your local dealer where parts that don\'t solve your issue can\'t be returned. If you find that our part doesn\'t solve your issue or your problem is outside the TIPM, simply send it back for a refund.

Description

Designed around a printed circuit board with four terminals (male pins), this system plugs into any TIPM-7 fuse box to test and bypass a faulty fuel pump relay using available current from your M37 fuse slot and K4 relay. There is no need to cut harness wires, remove the TIPM, visit your dealer, or reprogram the TIPM. The following electrical connections to the vehicle\'s fuse slots are used: Run/start signal (M37), fuel pump relay output (M25 far side), and power output to the fuel pump (M25 near side). Installation requires no special skills and can be accomplished in 5 minutes with no vehicle downtime. Once the system is installed, your vehicle’s fuel pump will receive power with full remote start capabilities and no limitations.

Symptoms of Faulty Fuel Pump Relays
  1. Multiple attempts to start, perhaps occurring most often in the morning when the vehicle is cold. The problem gets worse over time and eventually won\'t start at all. Vehicle acts like it\'s out of gas (ie. crank, no start). 70% of our customers experience this failure mode.
  2. Unexplained battery drainage due to a fuel pump relay that is stuck in the closed/on position. You can likely hear the fuel pump running if listening from the rear of the vehicle after it\'s turned off. Battery drainage may still occur even after a new battery or fuel pump is installed. 25% of our customers experience this failure.
  3. The vehicle stalls while driving and you coast to a stop. This situation is sometimes fuel pump relay related, but also could be due to thermal expansion issues inside the TIPM or other electrical components.
  4. The vehicle won\'t start and appears to be out of gas.
  5. Jump starting your vehicle resolves your starting issue since fuel pump relays perform better at higher voltages. When you start your vehicle, you\'re relying on the roughly 12.50 VDC battery voltage. If jump starting from another running vehicle, you\'re pushing nearly 14.0 VDC to the vehicle since the alternator outputs a higher voltage.
  6. Remote start resolves your starting issue since its use disables power to certain areas of the vehicle. Disabling power to these areas allows for higher battery voltages during the starting process and fuel pump relays perform better at higher voltages.
  7. Your vehicle starts fine in warm months, but won\'t start during colder months.
  8. Your vehicle tries to start, but stalls seconds or minutes after starting.

NOTE: If you turn your key or push the start button and nothing happens (ie. your starter does not rotate the engine), you have a starting issue that is unrelated to the fuel pump circuit and our parts will not help.

A printed color copy of the instructions is included with each order. Download the instructions for this part using the \"Instructions\" tab near the top of our product page at the Vertical Visions website.

Notes
  • If you have a 2011-2013 Dodge Durango or Jeep Grand Cherokee that had an external relayinstalled per the recall, this cable will be ineffective because your dealer cut wires under your TIPM.
  • This part won\'t solve problems that are unrelated to your fuel pump (ie. windshield wipers, starter, lights, etc.).
  • If your vehicle won\'t turn over and the starter will not even attempt to turn the flywheel with a properly charged battery, you likely have other issues that this part cannot solve.
  • Must be used with a TIPM-7 series fuse box. See our applicable vehicle chart above to confirm if this part will fit. It\'s normal to have mini-blade and cartridge fuses in different locations on this style TIPM, depending on your vehicle options and model.

Installation Instructions
  1. Turn vehicle off and locate your TIPM.
  2. Using the mini-blade/cartridge fuse removal tool located near the top of your TIPM, remove mini-blade fuses M25 and M37. For reference, a fuse diagram is also located under your TIPM lid. Transfer your M25 and M37 fuses to the corresponding fuse slots in the circuit board.
  3. Insert the circuit board into your TIPM so the four male terminals fit into the M25 and M37 fuse slots at the same time. If required, lift the white J13 fuse bezel approximately 1/4\". J13 is your Ignition Off Draw (IOD) fuse, which is normally used to prevent battery drainage when the vehicle is not driven for many weeks. Be sure to push the J13 white bezel down after the circuit board is installed.
  4. Close and then open the TIPM lid to ensure the circuit board is fully seated. See below to view the installed circuit board. Installation is now complete.
How To Bypass a Faulty Fuel Pump Relay

Once the installation is complete, your TIPM Plug-In Relay System Lite is ready to operate in bypass mode. No additional setup or wiring is required. Use this arrangement for normal driving to bypass a faulty fuel pump relay inside your TIPM that will not power the fuel pump or one that powers the fuel pump when the vehicle is off. Bypass mode uses the vehicle\'s run/start +12 VDC source at the M37 fuse terminal to provide power to the fuel pump via the M25 fuse slot. To view the onboard LEDs, proceed to the next paragraph for details on connecting the included jumper wire.

Testing Your Vehicle Using LED Feedback (Optional)
  1. Connect the included jumper wire between the circuit board’s ground connection (GND-TP1) and your vehicle’s chassis ground or battery negative terminal. Chassis ground is defined as any conductive connection on the vehicle’s metal frame.
  2. Start your vehicle and observe the LEDs in the lower right corner of the system.
  3. The RUN/STARTgreenLED illuminates when a +12 VDC run/start signal is present at the M37 fuse, indicating the engine is attempting to start or running.
  4. The ORIG RELAYgreenLED illuminates when a +12 VDC signal supplied via the original fuel pump relay inside your TIPM is detected. If the original fuel pump relay +12 VDC signal is intermittent or not present, this is an indication that the relay is faulty.
  5. The PUMP ONgreenLED illuminates when power is sent to the fuel pump via the M25 20 amp fuse. If your vehicle will not start while this LED is illuminated, you may have a fuel pump or other problem.
  6. Disconnect the included jumper wire while driving.
