Choke Plate Sticky, Otherwise, Not Bad Rated by Nooly on August 04, 2017Summary: I purchased this carburetor after reading many different reviews stating it was a great bolt-on piece requiring minimal adjustment. I installed the carb on a Mopar 360. It started and idled almost perfectly. After a run down the road I noticed right away that the secondary required adjustment. The manual stated it wouldn't take but a quarter or half turn. I ended up going about 2 1/2 turns before it would transition properly without stumbling on its face. After the car sat overnight I noticed that it wouldn't start. After popping the breather off I noticed that the choke flap was stuck closed. It took considerable force to break it loose again. This has happened two more times since I've installed it. I haven't had a chance to remove the flap and remove a small amount of material, or mess with an exchange.Another small issue that I noticed is that the hole for the throttle cable is not as far away from throttle plate axis as a Holley carburetor. This makes the throttle throw shorter, and thus the pedal throw is shorter. Now the throttle pedal only goes about 3/4 of the way to the floor when the carb butterflies are opened all the way. This is using the stock cable and pedal assembly on an E-body Mopar. I may have to modify the original pedal assembly, or live with the short throw. An increased distance from the throttle hole to the butterfly axis, like a Holley, would have solved this problem. I'm pretty satisfied with the smooth idle, and the way the carburetor performed after adjustment. I would have given it more stars if I didn't have the choke flap and throttle cable hole issues.
Yes, I recommend this product.
