After most probably 27 years now we have been modifying the inlet manifold on all 750 and 850 Reliant engines to improve both performance and efficiency, by welding a spacer to a standard manifold and then cutting a channel out after I discovered this simple but very effective modification when I was tasked with increasing the horse-power for Reliant\'s sales of engines to Fire Pump manufacturers. Reliant Owners Club also recommended this to their members.However since the majority of Reliant owners did not have access aluminium welding or the to tools to actually do it, and the need for a spacer to move the manifold outwards to accommodate larger exhaust primary pipes on our race engines I have developed a bolt on kit that is simple and easy to fit and requires no further parts, even the longer bolts required are supplied together with a neoprene O ring providing the sealing necessary. With this sandwiched between the manifold and cylinder head, using the standard gasket, you have the immediate benefit of the mod. There is no real need for the exhaust manifold heating of the inlet , so removing the retaining nut is not a problem. the engine will run just as well with the nut missing. Fit them so you can read Rebels Racing from outside of car, i.e. with O ring towards the manifold and not the existing gasket.
