Porsche Spare Tire Kit

I bought this a year ago but thankfully never had to use it. I bought the tire/wheel direct from a Porsche dealer as a brand new part. I bought the jack, lug wrench, cover, and styrofoam holder on eBay - those parts are not new/unused.


The kit fit perfectly in the front trunk. I kept it partially inflated (as seen in the picture) because it helped keep in snug in place in that front trunk. It can be fully deflated to take up less space.


According to the dealer, it is compatible with:

  • 2012-2015 911 Carrera (991 generation)
  • 2013-2015 Boxster and Boxster S (981 generation)
  • 2014-2015 Cayman and Cayman S (981 generation)
Based on what some people have said on internet forums, it may also fit some older 996 911 models, but I cannotguaranteethat!
  • This all-inclusive kit comes with a spare tire, storage bag, scissor jack, and rim wrench.
  • Not compatible with the Ceramic Brake System.

  • How does this work? For a flat front tire - This is a direct replacement for the stock front wheel.
  • For a flat rear tire - This scenario requires an additional step. In this case, the spare tire must be installed on your front of the car, and your front wheel/tire must be transferred to the rear (to replace the defective rear wheel). In other words, this spare tire won\'t fit on the rear, so you can use your front tire as a temporary replacement.
