This auction is for an excellent original Porsche 911 leather steering wheel. This style was the optional upgraded steering wheel used from 1974-1984 onPorsche911 and standard of the 930 turbo, 911SC and 1984, Carrera and would also work well on a 1976, 912E.
I bought this one and it had a leather cover on top which did an amazing job of preserving the original leather underneath. This steering wheel still has very nice graining to the leather and no sun damage or shrinkage. Some of the stitching was bad so this steering wheel was correctly and professionally completely restitched with correct German thread. The original leather was cleaned and conditioned with professional grade leather care products. It is very hard to find a steering wheel of this vintage in this condition. In my opinion recovered ones are not quite the same, there is no substitute for original.
This steering wheel is complete and includes the turn signal cancel ring/horn contact which is a $30 value.
