Mercedes W123 300D 300CD 300TD W126 300SD W116 300SD Tachometer Amplifier Updated Replacement. Condition is New.
This is a 100% NEW replacement amplifier for MB-0015455932. It is based on the state of the art PIC16F flash microcontroller by Microchip Technology. Unlike its predecessor that is no longer made, this is an all digital system using DSP code to capture and filter the crank signal. On start up the controller performs a needle sweep.
It is 100% compatible with 1981 - early 1984 W123 300D, 300CD, 300TD and W126 300SD cars. It will also fit 1979-80 W116 300SD cars. If your car has the black trash can style tachometer amp shown in the photo, this will replace it. Unplug your old amplifier and plug in mine. My unit digitally synthesizes the signal expected by the instrument cluster and works transparently with the existing crank sensor and gauge.
The system has diagnostics built in to check system power, sensor signal quality and tachometer instrument functionality using LED blink codes. This will help the user isolate other problems in the tachometer system once the amplifier is replaced.
There are currently over one hundred units deployed to date. It is designed with best engineering practices for thermal and vibrational stress. The intent was to make an efficient digital circuit that runs cooler than the original analog VDO amplifier. The theoretical consequence should be longer life.
