You are bidding on a used Koenig Hydraulic PTO winch. I have owned several old PTO winches over the past several years and I was keeping this one in case I needed any spare parts for one of my Koenig winches. I am planning to reduce my inventory of Willys Jeeps down to one (which won\'t be running a Koenig winch) so I won\'t be needing this. Please study the pictures and read the description. Now about the winch....... It came from the Koenig factory as a hydraulic powered winch which means it was adapted with a Char Lynn hydraulic motor. Char Lynn motors come in different sizes and there are usually a number of them used and new for sale every week on Ebay. This motor does not seem to turn so it will need rebuilt or possibly replaced. The advantage of a hydraulic motor over the conventional PTO winch is that you do not need to worry about how to run the shaft from the transfercase to the winch. You will need a hydraulic pump (attached to your PTO) or you can use the hydraulics from your power steering if you have your vehicle so equipped. Current day Milemarker hydraulic winches use the power steering route. You will also need a switch to divert the fluid (cheap ones are available for log splitters). If you want to go the conventional shaft route you would need to make an adapter to connect a shaft to the input area of the winch. Another option would be to use the input mechanism from another Koenig winch if you have one. You might also have to change the shaft that holds the worm gear if you go that route.

This winch would also be a good source of parts (my plan) if you currently have a Koenig winch. All of the parts with the exception of the input shaft and shaft end caps are interchangable with the conventional PTO type Koenig winches. I am not 100% sure on the worm gear but the drum, end mounts, clutch and brake mechanism will all interchange. These pieces are in good to nice shape however there is one small piece missing on one of the webs. You can grind it smooth or have someone weld in a small piece. Older Koenig winches did not even have this web so its kind of an extra. It\'s on the inside and kind of hard to see anyway. If you have priced replacement parts for the Koenig winches you will know that my startng price is well below what you would pay for just one or two parts. The input shaft currenly does not turn due to a couple of bad bearings. The bearings would need replaced and the winch would need to be rebuilt if you plan to use the winch rather than use it for parts. Study pictures, readdescriptionand ask questions. Since I never used this winch I cannot make any additional claims or warranties.

Please note that I will only ship to US locations (lower 48 states). Of course you are welcome to pickthe winchup (located in Charleston, WV). I would be willing to holdit for 30 days but payment is expected within 7 days after auction ends.

Over the past decade or so I have purchased and sold over 50 older Jeeps \'40s through 1971 with many of them being V6 powered. Most of these were parted out or sold off. I also collected trailer loads of parts for these Jeeps. Please check my other auctions over the next few weeks and months as I hope to clear out a decade worth of older Jeep and Willys parts. Some new, some old and a few rather rare parts.
