I am selling this prewar speedster fuel tank. Someone put a ton of effort into building this tanks. All of the brass fittings and filler neck are beautifully riveted to the tank. I'm not sure what it was built for but I acquired it as part of a collection of brass era parts and early speedster fuel tanks. The tank is in excellent solid condition with beautiful patina on the iron and brass, some surface rust but zero rust-through. The inside also has surface rust and dried fuel residue. It does hold pressure when I cover any opening and I do believe it will hold fuel just fine after cleaning. The inside will need to be cleaned with a chain and water or stone and water to remove any particles inside.

I am including the original brass dog bone gas cap. The cap is 8 inches long tip to tip and has an approximately 2.5 inch opening at the filler neck. The threads on the cap and neck are absolutely fine and it screws on and off perfectly.

The tank is iron and measures 16" diameter x 28" long. The math comes out to approximately 24 US gallons. The empty tank weighs approximately 35 pounds. There are a few slight dents that can be seen in the photos. There are no straps and no stand included. Selling just the tank with cap.

Please ask any questions and I'll do the best I can to answer. Ships via FedEx Ground to save the buyer money. That is the cheapest option by far due to size and weight. However, I will use whichever shipping option you prefer. I am easy to work with.
