A quick note about tube sizing (2.5\" or 3\") for our secondary pipes: The factory pipes on the S-V8 (non-Turbo) measure approx. 2.36\" OD. So, our 2.5\" secondary pipes will fit better and will connect more easily to your factory midpipe. For the S-V8 (non-Turbo),we would only recommend the 3\" version if you have aggressive aftermarket tuning and are upgrading to our full 3\" midpipe and rear exhaust. These 2.5\" secondary bypass pipes include adapters to transition from our 2.5\" OD tube down to the factory 2.36\" OD midpipe.

Hanksville Hot Rods is pleased to offer our newly-redesignedsecondary cat bypass for the 955 (2004-2006) Cayenne S-V8; these bypass pipes are for the non-Turbo version of the 955. The stock Porsche Cayenne has 2 sets of (4 total) catalytic converters and this bypass removes the rear set of cats (you will still have one full set remaining on the car) to increase HP/TQ, achieve a slightly more aggressive sound and provide incremental weight savings.

This new design provides much more clearance over the crossmember, and a more exact fit for the hangers. Due to the inconsistent availability of copper sheet, these pipes may ship with copper or aluminum gaskets.

We hand manufacture our own bypass pipes in Denver, Colorado. The tubing, flanges, and 4 adjustable hangers are made from 304 stainless steel with a matte/raw finish. We utilize custom-mandrel-bent 2.5\" tubes which mate up to the factory down pipe, then to the factory exhaust. Our flanges are 0.25 inch 304 stainless steel and were CAD designed and precision water jet cut in our facility. Our bypass pipes also incorporate 4 independently-adjustable stainless hangers. These waterjet-cut, adjustable hangers eliminate any fitment issues and allow our customers to adjust their bypass clearance as the exhaust sags over time. In addition, we have realized how important the role of hangers are in supporting the midsection of the exhaust. While the bypasses are considerably lighter than the factory cat pipes, hangers are mandatory to relieve stress on the factory downpipes and exhaust midpipe. Adding bypasses without hangers will eventually damage the factory exhaust.

On the Cayenne S, the bypass pipes provide immediate add-on power gains throughout the power band with peak gains of approx. 15hp-17hp.

We believe this is a DIY project for anyone capable of operating a wrench. We provide detailed instructions, hardware and copper gaskets. This project is estimated at 90 to 120 minutes for the first-timers. It’s a 60-minute project once you’re comfortable with the process.
