This is a fully restored set of custom wheels. This is a one of a kind set. Here are the details.
- Factory BBS RC090 wheels.
- Size = 17x8, offset 20mm
- Lug spacing is 5 on 120mm.
- Center bore = 74mm
- Fully Restored.
- Trueing: This included trueing a few minor flat spots and repairing some minor curb rash on the lips. There were no significant bends or cracks or similar damage. The wheels were not welded on.
- Stripping: The centers andouter lipswere chemically stripped.
- Polishing: The outer lips were polished to a mirror finish, and the inner barrelswerecleaned up to remove much of the accumulated brake dust. Polishing was completed using the correct high speed polishers and compounds.
- Painting: The strippedcenter sections and used center caps were primered and painted with custom mixed paint which had beenmatched to a new BBS RS center cap I have in stock. The color is nearly identical to the BBS gold that came on the 3-piece RS wheels from 20+ years ago. This paint was followed by a clear coat. The painting work was completed by a custom graphics automotive painter here in San Diego County, using the correct products and equipment.
- Plating: The original assembly hardware was sent out forblack zinc(bolts) and silver zinc (nuts) plating. Thezinc finish is very durable and long lasting.
- Assembly: The wheels were then properly reassembled using the original hardware. Each center was installed in the same original barrel from which it was removed, and at the same position. Each nut was tightened to18 ft-lbs (checked with torque wrench)with an application of thread locking compound.
- Center Caps: Four good used OEM Style 5 center caps were prepared and painted to match the wheel centers.
- BBS Center Chips: Brand new OEM BBS 3-D center chips were modified and fitted to theOEM centercaps.
- What you end up with is a properly restored and assembled set of one of a kind wheels.I have been restoring this type of wheel for about 15 years and do this work with the correct tools and utilize the best suppliers here in the San Diego area. You are getting a high quality restored set of wheels.I have included at least one photo of each wheel to see the quality of the refinish job.
- I have spun eachwheel on a balancer and verified that it is 100% trued and straight.
- The wheels are about as perfect as they can be. There is one wheel center with a couple minor flaws in the paint between 2 spokes. See photos.
- Comes with OEM wheel center cap removal tool.
These fit all sorts of early and late BMWs. Please do your research and certainly ask if you can\'t figure it out. For early cars with 72.56mmdiameter hubs,I recommend hubcentric rings to span the difference in the hub diameter (add $20/4).
