If your the screen stuck closed,opening only half,while you hear a grinding noise, the gear or gears are broken. The original gears are made from injection molded plastic, which material are prone to break as it gets older.
This kit include 3 new main bearings CNC machined from polyoxymethylene (an engineering thermoplastic) ,which is impossible to break under these usage conditions, and aging doesn\'t affect the strength of it.
We sell all 3 gears together as a set, because in a long term all 3 will fail. We have lot of experience repairing these unit\'s. Usually after one gear break, later the others ones will fail too due to the age of the material.
Does it fit right hand drive vehicles also?
Yes, it fit both.
Why plastic?
Our first gears way back was made from metal (brass), which we installed to customer cars. It turned out, the metal gears caused excessivewear on the plastic gears, arms over several years, which made the mechanism \"loose\" . So we switched to plastic.
