For2001 - 2007.5Volvo XC70P-2Platforms (AWD V70/S60/XC70)

Want to lift your P2? Now you can! The Bad Swede sport spring set offers 2\" of lift. This notonly restores that crisp handling that your XC70 had when new, it also givesyou the ground clearance you expect from your Swedish AWD and provides the \'R\'version spring rate for enhanced performance. This spring set is 14%stiffer than stock, which greatly improves the \'feel\' of the XC70 as well as addingground clearance.

The Performance lift springs give approximately 2\" (52-55 mm) of lift (in mostinstallations). This moves the wheel center to below the lower bodyline. Morelift is achieved when replacing worn-out stock springs. For this reason, wesuggest replacing springs and shocks as a set. Using BFG 215/70-16 All-Terrain\'KO\' tires provides approximately 255 mm (10.75\") ofusablegroundclearance.

The kit includes four sport-tuned52 mm lift springs (two front, two rear) and isolator sleeves. The photo shows a bronze finish, but thecurrent order is for red. The spring sets are currently being manufactured and should be available for shipping byAugust 15, although the manufacturer said it may be as a late as September15th. This is a pre-order. Once purchased, your springs will ship as soon asthey are ready. More info and photos at xc70liftkit.com. NOTE: If your XC70 currently has Nivomat self-leveling shocks, these are not compatible. We suggest replacing your Nivomat shocks with regular shocks to provide a firmer ride.

READTHIS! The BAD Swede 52 mm lift kit is for off-highway, closed course use only.Check local regulations before installing the lift kit on your vehicle. Forproper handling, tire wear and component warranty, Bad Swedestronglysuggests and requires for warranty claimsthat the vehicle receive afour-wheel alignment after installation. Beware! Your vehicle will have asubstantially higher center of gravity and vehiclehandling will beaffected.Body-roll will be exaggerated (higher center of gravity =more side load leverage on the suspension). This is why track cars are lowered. However, we live in the real world of road debris, deep ruts and freshly plowedsnow berms. BAD Swede suggests that you take your time to get used to the newhandling and improved ground-clearance. Higher-rate anti-roll bars arerecommended for heavy loads and/or aggressive driving.

FAQ

What’s in the kit?
Two front springs, two rear springs and noise isolator sleeves. The springs are similar to ‘R’ springs in stiffness and taller than stock height XC70 springs. They’ll provide about 2″ of lift.

Will I getexactly2″ of lift?
It depends on how old and worn out your current springs and shocks are. A vehicle with 200,000 miles will probably see more lift than one with 50,000 miles.

Will they fit a 2007 xc70?
It depends. The P2 platform ran from 2000 through mid 2007. It is possible to find a mid-year 2007 P2, but most 2007s wereP3s.

What about P3 platforms?
We don’t yet a have a spring set developed for the currentP3 platforms. If you’re interested, please emailinfo AT xc70liftkit.comand let us know. If there’s enough demand, we’ll make it happen.

I have a Nivomat self-leveling suspension. Will this kit work?
Some XC70s were equipped withNivomat self-leveling shocks. They’re quickly identified by the long accordion-like rubber boot. You can read about and see themhere. If you do have Nivomats, wesuggest swapping them out for the standard shocks to reduce the squishy ride Nivos produce. We’re working on a spacer for Nivomats, but only have a prototype at this point.

Who can install these?
Most any alignment shop/tire storeshould be able to do the job.

Will I need to add anything else?
Kits come with springs and noise isolators. You should have it installed and aligned professionally. There may be a need for a camber adjustment bolt after installation and any alignment shop should these.Depending on the age of your car and/or the mileage, you should consider replacing the shocks at the same time. And you’re gonna need some new tires!

I want bigger tires! What can I get?
The XC70′s relatively small displacement engine makes good power with the turbo in boost, but will lack a bit of off-the-line oomph with taller tires. If your tires are too tall, acceleration will suffer. The outside diameter needs to stay within about an inch (total tire height from ground to top of the tire) of the stock size to keep the car from being a total dog from a standing stop.

Rod used to run 215/75/16 BF Goodrich KOs with 5mm spacers and he was happy. The KOs are available for approximately $149 per tire. The Yokohama GeoLander comes in a 225/65/16. That with a set of spacers has a nice ‘rally car’ look and will keep close to stock diameter tire.

You can read about Ken Pruett’s great XC70 build at[link removed by eBay].In it, he says they’d consider running245/70/16s, which would be 1.18″ wider and 2.5″ taller (1.25″ on either side). We’ll follow up with Ken and see what he chose.
