On your 1955-57 Chevy car, the front motor mounts are at the front of the block and the rear mount attaches to the bellhousing. This works fine for original use but makes it hard to swap in a different trannsmission or add belt driven accessories to the front of the engine.
Use with engine cushions 910-18012 and transmission crossmember 916-28910 listed below. Drilling required for bolt-in use and welding is suggested when applicable.

They can be welded or sometimes bolted, dePending on the frame you have. I've installed 4 sets of these and about half of the time they need to be welded on, however that is because 55-57 Chevy frames do vary quite a bit. The other options out there aren't nearly as strong, and dont allow for the needed clearance when you want to run power steering pumps and or headers on a small block.
