After setting a record quarter-mile pass (8.95-seconds) with their 3.8-liter Whipple swapped Mustang Gt500, the crew at Palm Beach Dyno decided not to tackle the wheelie problem with a new Magna Ride suspension controller. Instead, they opted for a set of specially valved single adjustable front struts from KellTrac Suspension (topped with a set of BMR springs). That dropped the front ride height about a half- inch and helped to keep the front wheels down during launch. The new struts can be adjusted from stiff to soft by simply turning a knob.
At the dragstrip, the car posted a 1.34-second 60-foot before the driver missed a shift. Next time will be better.
The next pass was one of those when everything goes right. It ended with a new world record of 8.80-seconds @ 158.84 mph.
There is also footage of a 2021 Mustang GT500 on this clip. The only mods to this car are Toyo Triple 8 tires in the rear and a performance tune. He’s running consistent 10s.
Enjoy.
