Eddie’s car is a real eye-catcher with a monsterous turbocharger protruding through the hood. It all begins with a handcrafted tube chassis underneath an extended (14-inches) TR6 body. The engine is no less interesting. With everyone else opting for the LS package, Eddie has chosen to go with a family heirloom (1970) Pontiac mill. It is a 400 cubic-inch block with a stroker kit that nets 488 cubic-inches. A Garrett 91-millimeter turbocharger (21 psi) is the cherry on top of this cake. The transmission is a heavy-duty 4L80E automatic with a lockup torque converter.
With four race tracks in five days and a 1,000-mile road trip in their immediate future, the looming question is; will Fast Eddie give out first or the car? Maybe they will both hold together and win their class. Check out the video to find out.
