Oxygen Sensors and Air Fuel Ratio Sensors are among the most sensitive and critical components on your car engine. Earlier fuel injection systems employed one oxygen sensor in the exhaust system to maintain closed-loop air/fuel mixture control. However, engines today may use as many as four sensors, which monitor not only exhaust gas oxygen content but catalytic converter efficiency as well. In order to perform these functions properly, the sensors must adhere to OE standards within incredibly close tolerances. A malfunctioning or incorrectly calibrated oxygen sensor can hurt driveability and illuminate the malfunction indicator, resulting in costly and time-consuming repairs. DENSO First Time Fit oxygen sensors are designed to meet those tolerances and more. The DENSO oxygen sensor catalog offers one of the most complete product lines in the industry, from Acura to Volvo.

  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction.
  • Porous PTFE Filter allows atmospheric oxygen to enter the sensor without permitting water or engine contaminants to seep into the casing.
  • Double Protection Cover Maintains proper unit temperature for quicker response times and protects the ceramic element against silicone and lead poisoning.
  • Stainless Steel Housing resists corrosion and contamination with a rugged, watertight body.
  • Aluminum-Oxide Trap Layer keeps silicone and lead outside the ceramic element through DENSO exclusive design, preventing damage to the platinum electrode.

Before bidding on this item, make sure it matches your vehicle and sensor location information.

  1. Make sure your vehicle Year, Make, Model, Engine, and Emission Standard match the vehicle fitment information.
  2. Standing at the back of the engine (where the transmission attaches) facing the front (which typically contains the fan belts and pulleys), if the sensor you need is connected to the left side exhaust manifold, choose the Left Bank sensor. If it is connected to the right side exhaust manifold, choose the Right Bank sensor.
  3. Select the Sensor 1 or Sensor 2 oxygen sensor according to your sensor location or OBD/OBDII readout.

OBD/OBD-II (On Board Diagnostic) trouble codes
OBD scan tools read the engine Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and failed sensor locations associated with your vehicle Check Engine Light. Oxygen sensor failures are indicated by P-codes (Power-train codes). Sensor locations are typically given as Bank 1/2 Sensor 1/2/3:

  • Bank 1 - The exhaust manifold including the No. 1 cylinder.
  • Bank 2 - The second engine head/exhaust manifold.
  • Sensor 1 - Located upstream of the catalytic converter (Pre-Cat).
  • Sensor 2 - Most often located downstream of the catalytic converter (Post-Cat).
  • Sensor 3 - On vehicles with two sensors before the catalytic converter, Sensor 1 and Sensor 2 are pre catalytic converter and Sensor 3 is post catalytic converter.
