New cars have lots of sensors which can be good and bad. It's great in that both you and your car know the current situation for all kinds of different things in your car all the time. It's certainly not great though when a sensor goes bad and either gives a faulty reading or just makes a mess. The washer level fluid sensor serves a simple purpose, to let you know when you're low on windshield washer fluid. When it goes bad, you either get a warning light complaining of low fluid when you aren't or it just won't read at all. As it resides in the washer fluid reservoir, it can also start leaking which can really lead to heckuva mess. This sensor is used on a lot of different makes and models so it doesn't come with the grommet however these normally can be reused.
The great thing about Febi Bilstein sensors is they are excellent OEM quality and they don't cost any more than the crappy knock-offs out there.
Do it once - do it right!
