West Texas Street Hits – Turbo LS Mustang vs Nitrous Chevy Bel Air

February 19th, 2021

When it rains – it pours, and it is flooding hardcore street cars down in West Texas. This video covers a night when top-tier street machines took over the interstate (closed course in Mexico). Nitrous, turbo, and supercharged competitors were all represented as these awesome machines took to the street. Let’s catch up.

Fresh out of the gate, we have a turbocharged Pontiac Trans Am WS6 rolling on a 900HP C6 Corvette ZR1 with a Kong Ported (2650) blower. Both these cars look like they mean business. The Poncho gets the early jump before the Vette catches up and takes the victory by a narrow margin.

Next, we move on to an SN95 Mustang (4.8-liter Chevy LS motor with a Borg Warner S472 turbocharger) versus a Chevrolet Bel Air with a 434 cubic-inch small block motor and several kits of nitrous. As expected, the nitrous car gets the jump, and the turbo car catches him once he gets spooled up. Good close race. Love the “Shoebox” Chevy.

Now the SN95 Mustang takes on a C6 Chevy Corvette Z06 with upgraded cylinder heads, camshaft and intake manifold. The turbo Mustang proves to be too much for the Z06 to handle on this night. Better luck next time.

Tons more street racing action on this one.
