Wasabi – 2800HP HEMI Supra

October 29th, 2019

Greetings drag racing fans, street racers and gear heads of every ilk. Welcome to the fifth annual Outlaw Armageddon The World Series of No Prep from Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble, Oklahoma. Wasabi is the name of the oddball Supra featured in this video. The car earns its moniker with a mustard colored paint hue and a smoking hot disposition. This mess of German, Asian and American ingenuity is favored in the Small Tire Class. Let’s see how it pans out.

The body is all steel and as close to factory specifications as possible. It’s on a rolled tube chassis with a four-link rear. Under the hood is a billet 526 cubic-inch HEMI with a 118-millimeter Precision turbo. MoTec is the controller of choice. The combination is capable of producing 2800hp. Wow!

The interior is rotten with carbon-fiber and billet. This ride is laid out with a lot of attention to detail and very little concern for cost effectiveness. It is a thing of beauty.

No Prep tracks being what they are; Wasabi will only utilize a fraction of the power that it could make in order to get from point A to point B. The boost is turned way down. Nevertheless, it blasts through the quarter mile like a bullet. The car hooks up well and destroys the competition – until it doesn’t. Better luck next time, guys.
