Underground Racing Built 1300HP Audi R8 V10 Plus – Street Hits

November 18th, 2020

Cipher this riddle for me: What is virtually the same as a Lamborghini Huracan, right down to the V10 engine and monocoque chassis, but costs a hundred grand less? How about an Audi R8 V10 Plus? The R8 and the Huracan are both produced by the Volkswagen Group using the same powertrain and general format. That’s a win/win proposition. Now add a Stage 3 Package (with billet cylinder heads) from Underground Racing (UGR) and you have a genuine street monster. Let’s take a look.

First impressions? What can’t be overlooked is that this car looks and sounds amazing, and the turbos are super loud (even at idle). UGR has a reputation for building cars that perform like a racer and behave like an everyday driver. The only thing that’s keeping this Audi from being the ultimate street sleeper is that it sounds like a fighter jet.

On pump gas, this bad girl can make 1,150hp. Fill ‘er up with racing fuel and it can churn out 1,300hp! The UGR Stage 3 Package includes transmission upgrades with billet tranny and clutch parts. In unbelievably smooth fashion, this German nightmare accelerates to a breathtaking degree. It just climbs and climbs and climbs – 150, 160, 170 mph – with no apparent end in sight. Even more astonishing is that this is on pump gas and the Stage 3 is not even a top tier UGR kit. The X Package would yield upwards of 2,000hp on racing fuel.

So, climb in, buckle up and hold on. This is going to be a wild ride.
