Turbo Acura RSX – Street, Strip and Dyno

September 16th, 2019

Greetings drag racing fans. Allow me to introduce Kevin. He is the owner of a 950whp 2003 Acura RSX Type-S. While we take a look at Kevin’s car, he is currently overseas, protecting our freedom as a member of the U.S. military. Prior to his departure, he left us with some information about his ride. Thank you for your service, Kevin.

This little car is awesome! Under the hood is a built (JBR Engines Tampa, Florida) Honda JDM K20 Type-R. It is loaded with Arias pistons and Carillo connecting rods. Up top are Drag Cartel camshafts and Ferrea valvetrain components. The intake manifold is a Custom Sidewinder from KLN and the turbo is a Precision 6766. So is the wastegate. The blowoff valve is a Tial. The setup made 840whp @ 35 psi of boost. It gets turned up way higher than that!

He’s got a 6-speed manual transmission built by Dale at Gear Driven in the Sunshine State. It is a wacky blend of street, track and strip that gets the job done. The limited-slip differential is by M-Factory and the final drive is stock. The clutch is a triple disc Competition package.

Kevin has a personal best quarter-mile pass of 10.44-seconds @ 148 mph. C’mon, let’s go for a ride!
