We recently installed a set of lightweight Pulse MV1 wheels finished in glossy gunmetal on our Tesla Model S P90D Ludicrous that were designed specifically for the Tesla.   These 1-piece ultra-light weight wheels forged from the finest grade aluminum and have been optimized to have a wider track on the rear without compromising the ride or handling and without need for modifications of the Model S fenders.

Pulse MV1 wheel sizes are:

• Front: 21″ x 9.0″ ET30
• Rear: 21″ x 10.5″ ET35

While we kept the stock OEM Michelin tires on the car we could go much wider in the rear with a 305/30/21 tire.  During mounting of the tires on the new wheels we weighed the stock wheels as well as the Pulse wheels to determine the exact weight savings:

Stock Tesla Wheels

• Front: 21″ x 8.5″: 33.4 pounds
• Rear: 21″ x 9.0″: 36.6 pounds

Pulse Wheels

• Front: 21″ x 9″: 28.2 pounds
• Rear: 21″ x 10.5″: 28.8 pounds

With an overall weight savings of 26.4 pounds of rotational mass we expect to have gains in performance and efficiency from our new P90D, not to mention the wheels look amazing on the car.
