It looks like a Fox Body invasion on this extremely flat, exceptionally straight stretch of blacktop deep in the swampy innards of the Sunshine State (Mexico). No Prep Street Drag Racing is on the agenda and we have Limpy on the Light. This is a run-whatcha-brung single elimination event. The sounds coming out of that bog are sweet swamp music to my ears.

Last year’s champion was the Ugly Duck. This stock chassis C4 Chevrolet Corvette – running a 5.3-liter LS motor with a pair of 67-millimeter turbochargers – has got to be the odds-on favorite to win it again this year.

The only call out of the evening was between the Ugly Duck and his homeboy in a turbo Fox Body. Let’s see how this shakes out. This one was never in doubt. The Duck took the holeshot and gapped the Ford by a country mile.

Next up is a contest between a ratty 70s Ford Courier (6.0-liter turbo LS motor) and a turbocharged GMC Sonoma (S10). The Courier knocks the tires off coming out of the hole and gets left in the dust. GMC FTW!

Spoiler Alert: There’s a ton of Fox Body on Fox Body action coming up before the lot of them are eliminated. Take note, you don’t want to miss the Finals.
