Supercharged Honda S2000 Takes on Stock C8 Corvette Z06-Street Hits

March 14th, 2025

Tonight, we have an unlikely roll out between a Honda and a Corvette. These two cars are about as different as daylight and dark. The Chevy is bone stock and the Honda has been modified in a serious manner. Buckle-up, this is gonna be a wild one.

The rear-wheel drive (convertible) Honda S2000 came from the factory with a naturally aspirated 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine and a close ratio manual transmission. A fun sports car, the S2000 was nothing to write home about when it came to performance. This guy yanked the factory motor and installed a stock single cam F22 mill from a Honda Accord. The non-VTEC F22 is the equivalent of a big block among Honda enthusiasts. That was a bit of a downgrade, so he slammed in a big ol’ supercharger between the motor and the radiator. Now, he’s ready to take on some Corvettes. Right?

In the other lane is the bone stock C8 Corvette Z06. This mid-engine, rear-wheel drive version of the Corvette is arguably the best. Equipped with an all-aluminum flat plane crank 5.5-liter V8 engine, the stock C8 Z06 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6-seconds and bust the standing quarter-mile in 10.5-seconds @ 131 mph. The F1 inspired motor can rev to 8,500 RPM and make 670hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. Top speed is 189 mph and the C8 tips the scale at 3,666-pounds.

This is looking like a lopsided affair. Can you guess which way the road is tilting?
