Supercar Slam – Motor Trend 4-Way Drag Race
July 31st, 2024We’ve got a real treat on tab for today. Motor Trend is lining up the four baddest supercars (within reason) on the planet for a drag race. On hand for this affair are a bevy of sophisticated beauties. There’s the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the Maserati MC20 Cielo, the McLaren 750S Coupe and the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. The desert sands are about to get even hotter.
At a curb weight of just 3,220-pounds, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a rear engine, rear-wheel drive rocket. Equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat 6 engine that can produce 518hp, the Porsche must be considered a favorite to win this thing.
The fiery German will be starting out against a beautiful Italian. The Maserati MC20 Cielo tips the scale at 3,920-pounds, the MC20 comes with a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that can make 620hp. This Italian might look laid back but she’s in it to win it.
From the United Kingdom is the McLaren 750S Coupe. This pure performance Brit features a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 motor that can churn out 740hp. At a curb weight of 3,062-pounds, the McLaren looks like a dark horse in this field.
Finally, the all-wheel drive Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is the all-American ride of this bunch. Outfitted with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine and an electric motor, the E-Ray is capable of generating 655hp. She’s a heavy girl at 3,912-pounds.
Time to line these thoroughbreds up and let them run.
