Supercar Killer? 2023 Corvette Z06 vs Huracan Evo and Ferrari 458

October 8th, 2022

The incredible 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has fallen into the hands of lovely Emelia Hartford. Today, she will line it up against some of the best production supercars that Italy has to offer. Will the Chevy earn the name of Supercar Killer or fizzle out when the rubber meets the road?

We’ll start with the 2023 Corvette Z06. The heart of the beast? How about the new dual overhead cam, flat-plane crank LT6 V8 engine? This naturally aspirated motor has a bore of 4.104 inches and a stroke of 3.150 inches, giving it a total displacement of 5.5-liters. The block is made of A319-T7 sand-cast aluminum and features pressed-in iron cylinder liners with four-bolt main bearing caps. The cylinder heads are A356 T6 cast aluminum. Maximum output is rated at 670hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. All those ponies are sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that can make 600hp. The transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Powered by a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, the Ferrari 458 is capable of producing 570hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The 458 also uses a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Can the Corvette take these Italian beauties, despite the fact that it cost more than $100k less than either of them? Hide and watch.
