Super Truck Drag Race – Ram TRX vs Shelby F-150 Super Snake

January 14th, 2021

We’re from the country and we like it this way! Whether you are from the suburbs, the country or the city, pickup trucks are king. Either you have a pickup or you need a pickup. These days, there’s no need to have a hot rod and a hauler when you can get one of these fast-and-loud pickup truck models straight from the factory.

The Ram 1500 TRX is a beast of a pickup. Developed in conjunction with the Dodge SRT engineering team, the Ram TRX is a combination of a hard-charging Ram power wagon and a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Under the hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 capable of churning out 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque – sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Unbelievably, the TRX can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds @ 110 mph. Not too shabby for a stump jumper, huh?

On the other hand, the Shelby F-150 Super Snake is no slouch either. Shelby America takes a hum-drum Ford F-150 4X4 with a 5.0-liter V8 and turns it into a super serpent. With the addition of a massive Whipple supercharger and some other high-performance goodies, Shelby bumps this pickup to 770hp. It can blast from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.45-seconds.

In addition to these two monsters, you will get an up-close look at the Ford F-150 Raptor and a Ford F-150 EcoBoost with a 5 Star performance tuner installed. The drag race between these two really surprised me.
