Super Modified Street Hits – Trackhawk vs. MK4 Supra

December 21st, 2024

It’s about to get down and dirty on the streets (of Mexico) tonight. A pair of radically modified street monsters are cued up for maximum acceleration in the roll racing style. Buckle-up, buttercup, it’s about to get real.

On the right, we have the massive (heavy) all-wheel drive 2018 Jeep Trackhawk. The Trackhawk is the top of the heap for domestic performance in the SUV segment. In stock trim, this grocery-getter could generate approximately 800hp. Equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, the Jeep didn’t require a ton of modification. The factory supercharger was swapped for a 3.0-liter Whipple unit along with all the supporting hardware. The engine and transmission have been built with premium internals. There are racing slicks on all four corners. The Jeep is also tuned to burn E85 race fuel. She’s a very bad girl capable of putting 1,100hp to the pavement.

In the left lane is the 1995 Toyota (MK4) Supra. Don’t get it twisted. With a built motor and a brand-new 72-millimeter Pulsar turbo, this old import is making 900hp to the rear wheels. Sure, the Toyota is slightly underpowered, but it is also much lighter than the Jeep – by almost a full ton.

This should be a good, close race.
