Street Hits – 392 Challenger vs. Kia K900

May 24th, 2023

Headed back out to the street, tonight. That’s where we found this clip from down Mexico way. At first glance, it seems that the owner of a naturally aspirated Dodge Challenger has called out the grocery-getter of big Frank. On a lonely stretch of highway, our man Frank is about to administer a quick lesson in street racing. Get a load of this:

The Challenger is a modern-day hot rod. It sounds and looks good, but with no power-adder, this Mopar is playing second fiddle to the Hellcat variant. Tucked under the hood is a 6.4-liter HEMI that can rev to 485hp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. Those numbers may seem impressive, but the 392 Challenger is heavy at nearly 2-tons. This car is in stock condition.

Worlds apart from the domestic hot rod, the K900 is a full-size luxury sedan from Korea. Quiet and sleek, this thing is the ultimate street sleeper. The Gen 2 Kia K900 utilizes a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 to deliver 420hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels. A hefty sled in its own right, the K900 tips the scale at 5,622-pounds. Featured in this video is a K900 that has been modified with a catless exhaust setup and an E85 tune.

This one has all the earmarks of a close race.
