Stock McLaren 720S vs. Modified Corvette Z06 – Street Hits

May 19th, 2023

Things are heating up in the street (in Mexico) tonight, as we have a McLaren taking on a souped-up Corvette Z06. The worst night of street racing is better than the best night sitting on the couch. This one was made even better with the appearance of the unicorn-esque McLaren 720S. As intimidating as it is beautiful, the 720S seems to make the heart of any performance enthusiast beat faster. Have a closer look.

This (nearly) stock McLaren 720S is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive roadster. With a twin turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the 720S can manufacture 710hp and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds. This British Bombshell utilizes a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to get the power to the rear wheels. It weighs 3,139-pounds. Aftermarket exhaust downpipes are the only notable mods for the McLaren 720S.

Going against the McLaren is a modified C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the Z06 is capable of producing 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque (stock). Featured in this video is a car that has been upgraded with a set of exhaust headers, upper and lower supercharger pulleys, a methanol injection system and an E85 tune.

Can’t wait to get these two lined up and see what jumps off.
