Rolling Interstate Getdown – Hellcat Jailbreak vs. Modified BMW 340i
August 26th, 2024Whoo-wee! It’s about to get real on these streets! We are looking at a pair of inducted sports cars specifically prepared for racing on the interstate. That’s right, it’s roll racing. Don’t knock until you’ve tried it.
On the right is the 2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine, the Jailbreak is making legendary power. How about 717hp on pump gas? You can’t overlook the fact that the Jailbreak is a heavy pig at a GVW of 5,450-pounds. Despite the excess weight, this Mopar can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.8-seconds @ 124 mph. The brakes are Brembo disc, and the wheels are forged aluminum. The Dodge featured in this video has been modified with a crankshaft pulley and a cold air intake. It has not been tuned.
In the left lane is the 2017 BMW 340i X-Drive with its intercooled turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder motor. This all-wheel drive sedan can make 320hp in factory condition. The Beemer in the video has been upgraded with an aftermarket high-performance exhaust, a high-performance fuel pump and an E50 tune. The BMW is light compared to the Hellcat at 4,565-pounds, but it makes less power.
Time to hit the interstate and let the feathers fly.
