RENNtech bumps Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to 525 horsepower

June 21st, 2008

We posted the first stock dyno results of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG back in April when it put down an impressive 380 HP and 363 ft-lb of torque to the rear wheels. We knew it was only a matter of time before the tuners were able to reveal the true potential of the C63’s 6.3L 32-valve V-8 AMG engine, and that time is here.

RENNtech just delivered a C63 AMG to a customer that put down 431.4 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque to the wheels by custom tuning the ECU and adding a set of headers. The same car put down 374 and HP and 367 ft-lb torque a few dyno runs earlier. Using a conservative 18% driveline loss, that puts this C63 at very impressive 525 HP and 471 ft-lb of torque. That’s a serious power pickup of almost 60HP from just a couple of mild upgrades. We expect the tuned C63’s to be well into the 11’s at over 120 MPH trap speeds with decent weather and track conditions. Check back soon to see what these tuned and stock C63’s are running in the 1/4 mile. Click on the dyno graph below to view the details:
