Nitrous Challenger Hellcat vs. Hellion Twin Turbo Mustang – Street Hits
April 23rd, 2025This video is loaded with multiple camera angles and premium audio effects. You will almost smell the gasoline and rubber as they permeate the atmosphere. Put your ear buds in and let’s get to it.
In the right lane is the Ford Mustang GT. From the factory, this pony car featured a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 460hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. The rear-wheel drive Mustang GT was equipped with a 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission. The stock Mustang GT could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 12.7-seconds @ 112 mph. The Mustang in this video has undergone some major modifications. Most notably is a Hellion twin turbocharger kit with all the trimmings. An upgrade of this sort could easily double – or even triple – the factory performance capacity.
Looking menacing in the left lane is the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Arguably the most powerful production model in existence, the Hellcat lineup offers supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI muscle under the hood. In stock condition, the Hellcat could produce 797hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. Car and Driver Magazine says the (stock) Hellcat can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds and blow through the quarter-mile in 10.96-seconds @ 124 mph. The problem for the mighty Mopar? Her 4,429-pound curb weight (compared to 3,705-pounds for the Mustang). This Dodge has been upgraded with a ported blower, nitrous, an E85 tune and a full accoutrement of aftermarket bolt-ons.
Time to get these two struggle buggies on the street and see what rattles loose.
