Nissan GT-R vs. Audi R8 – 200 MPH Street Race
October 16th, 2024It’s about to get funky on these streets (of Mexico), tonight. Two cars are rolling out with the capacity to generate 3,000hp. That’s a lot of ponies on a single interstate. That translates into mind numbing acceleration and tons of pure speed. Get a load of this:
The Nissan GT-R is equipped with a built 4.1-liter stroker motor and a pair of modified turbochargers. The transmission has also been tweaked to enhance durability. In stock trim (3.8-liter motor) the GT-R was making 600hp and 451 lb.-ft. of torque. The all-wheel drive Nissan could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.2-seconds @ 131 mph. In its current state, this GT-R is capable of producing approximately 1,500hp.
Based on the same format as the Lamborghini Huracan, the Audi R8 V10 Plus is sold with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine (602hp and 413 lb.-ft. of torque). In factory condition, the R8 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1-seconds and blow through the quarter-mile in 11-seconds flat @ 132 mph. With a pricey aftermarket twin turbo kit, this Audi can lay down 1,500hp to all-four wheels at any given second.
This is going to be a great race.
