Modified Monsters Take to the Interstate – Roll Racing
August 20th, 2024This is a battle between a pair of modified domestic monsters on steroids – so to speak. Both these production ponies are built for speed and further modified with the purpose of roll racing in mind. Get a load of these gizzard slappers.
In the right lane is the Dodge Charger Hellcat sedan. As far as sedans go, this is the bee’s knees. Under the hood of this rear-wheel drive chariot is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 capable of producing 717hp on pump gas – and that’s in stock condition. Featured in this video is a Hellcat that has been modified with a professionally ported blower, an E 85 tune and a full accoutrement of aftermarket bolt-on components. This wicked kitty is making some serious power.
On the left is the Chevrolet Camaro LT1 with its naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Underpowered compared to the Hellcat, the LT1 version of the Camaro is only good for 455hp from the factory. The Camaro is this video has been upgraded with a set of high-performance aftermarket cylinder heads, a performance camshaft and an aftermarket intake manifold. He’s also squirting a 75hp kit of nitrous.
This will be a 60 to 160 mph roll race. Giddy-up!
