Modified Camaro ZL1 vs. McLaren 720S – 60 to 150 MPH Street Hits

December 30th, 2024

Things are heating up in these streets (of Mexico) tonight. Here we have a pair of street racers that have been trashing one-another on social media. It’s all coming to a head this evening in illustrious roll racing glory. Buckle-up gearheads, this could get messy.

In the left lane is the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the ZL1 is the top rung of the Camaro performance ladder. In stock condition, the ZL1 engine package can make 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque at the crank. The Camaro featured in this video has been modified with professional supercharger porting to increase airflow. It has an upgraded camshaft, full supporting mods and it’s tuned to burn E85 fuel. Any way you slice it, this thing is an 800whp beast.

On the right is the stock 2021 McLaren 720S. Despite a lack of aftermarket mods, this mid-engine, rear-wheel drive 720S is no underdog. This British beauty is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine capable of churning out 710hp and 568 lb.-ft. of torque. At a curb weight of 3,300-pounds, the McLaren has a significant advantage over the Chevy.

Shall we get down to where the rubber meets the road?
