Lexus vs. Nissan – Epic Street Hits
September 17th, 2024Tonight, we launch out onto the streets (of Mexico) for some roll racing on the interstate. Our video co-stars are a Lexus IS 300 sedan and a Nissan GT-R coupe. Each vehicle has been modified to enhance performance. Buckle-up!
In the right lane is the Nissan GT-R. It comes from the factory with a twin turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine that can make up to 600hp. As the flagship of the Nissan lineup, the stock GT-R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.2-seconds @ 121 mph. The all-wheel drive Nissan GT-R tips the scale at 3,850-pounds in stock trim. The GT-R featured in this video has been modified with turbocharger system upgrades as well as a built motor and transmission. Steering, suspension and brake mods are also substantial. He’s claiming 1,500hp.
On the left is the all-wheel drive Lexus IS 300. Despite being the smallest car in the Lexus lineup, the IS300 is a heavy pig at 3,847-pounds. The car in this video has been swapped to a professionally built 2JZ 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a massive single turbocharger. The car has never been on the dyno, but it looks and sounds plenty fast. Soon we will see for sure.
