Lambo Aventador SV vs. Tesla Swapped VW Bug vs. Porsche 911 GT3 RS – Standing Quarter Mile Drags

November 4th, 2024

This clip from Carwow features a series of 3-way drag races that border on chaos. The extreme vehicles on-hand for this extravaganza are all worthy of remembrance. Let’s get a closer look at this incredible machinery.

Representing the Italians is the Lamborghini Aventador SV. With its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine and all-wheel drive setup, the Aventador can manufacture 750hp (507 lb.-ft. of torque) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8-seconds. Top speed is a computer controlled 217 mph and the Aventador can crush the standing quarter-mile in 10.4-seconds @ 135 mph.

Ringing the bell for Germany is the rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Powered by a rear mounted 4.0-liter flat 6 engine. The Porsche is also naturally aspirated and is capable of producing 525hp (342 lb.-ft. of torque) and turning the standing quarter-mile in 10.9-seconds @ 127 mph. Top speed is 184 mph and the agile Porsche can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.7-seconds.

Finally, the Frankenstein segment is represented by Bug Zappa. This Tesla swapped VW Beetle utilizes an electric motor on each axle to generate 800hp (685 lb.-ft. of torque) to all-four wheels. At a curb weight of 2,866-pounds, Bug Zappa is certainly no pushover.

Shall we see what happens when the rubber meets the road?
