Joe Rogan’s UP Tesla Model S-Apex Plaid

January 31st, 2025

Unplugged Performance (UP) is taking the Tesla Model S Plaid to the next level. This video takes a look at an UP Tesla Model S-Apex Plaid build customized for media giant Joe Rogan. Needless to say, this car exhibits all the standard features of the S-Apex platform and adds a few custom touches.

The first thing to grab you is the 19-piece carbon fiber widebody kit that increases the width of the Tesla by 80-millimeters. Up front, integrated dry carbon fiber brake ducts allow cool air to flow across the front rotors for improved stopping under any driving situation. Koenigsegg Advanced Manufacturing aerodynamic shark fin wheel arches take over from there, precisely funneling air over the front wheel arches and down the lower rocker panels. Out back, a dry carbon fiber hatchback – with an integrated spoiler – helps to reduce weight and further improve aerodynamic characteristics. Misleading the eye of the beholder, UP’s signature large weave carbon fiber appears glossy black from a distance but bursts into waves of bright silvers and gold threads up close (especially in the sunlight). The factory panels on Joe’s S-Apex have also been painted with a subtle shade of Blue Pearl White. Stunning.

Underneath, UP billet aluminum suspension arms adorn all four corners. The brakes have also been upgraded with an UP Big Brake Kit with carbon ceramic rotors and pads. Those wheels are UP Forged Monoblocks (21×10 in the front and 21×11.5 in the rear). Used on the Dark Helmet Pikes Peak car, these rims are virtually indestructible. Wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber (with superlight lug nuts), the S-Apex virtually sticks to the pavement.

The interior is customized with plush von Holzhausen Banbū leather paired with soft black Alcantara.

Truly a one-of-a-kind automobile.
