October 30th, 2015

Hypercar Shootout from the U.K.This clip comes to you from the iconic Santa Pod Raceway in Wellington, England. It features three of the most extraordinary supercars on the planet. From Italy we have the Ferrari La Ferrari. It boasts a fighter jet inspired profile and 950hp. The La Ferrari’s 789hp 6.3-liter V12 internal combustion engine gets a 161hp boost from an electric motor and it costs around $1.4-million. From Germany we have the Porsche 918 Spyder with 887hp and a 211 mph top-speed. It costs $1-million. Finally, from merry old England, the McLaren P1; it gets its 903hp from a 3.8-liter “petrol” engine and an 177hp electric motor. The P1 also comes with hydro-pneumatic suspension and a rear wing that extends almost a foot. The price is approximately $1.35-million.

As expected, the Porsche bested all competitors in the 1/4-mile elapsed time category but the P1 took the trophy for trap speed. Check out the video for all the eighth and quarter mile times and speeds.
