Hollywood Horsepower – Kevin Hart’s Blown 1966 Chevelle SS Restomod

February 5th, 2025

Although funny man Kevin Hart is one of America’s most popular stand-up comedians (not to mention a superstar of the big screen), he often remarks about his small stature. When Kevin climbs behind the wheel of Darkness (his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS), he’s ten feet tall.

Built by Timeless Kustoms, Darkness is a street monster. Under the hood is a supercharged 7.4-liter Chevy LSX V8. The massive mill is lubricated with a wet sump system and topped with an LS9 2.3-liter supercharger (currently running 7-pounds of boost). Darkness has 3-inch exhaust with Borla mufflers. The combination is rated at 750hp with this tune. The boost could certainly be cranked-up significantly. The automatic transmission is a 4L80E from a Chevy/GMC truck. The rear end is a Ford 9-inch front loader with 3.55:1 gearing.

Rolling on an Art Morrison chassis, Darkness has a C6 Corvette front suspension and a triangulated rear setup. The shocks are coilover all the way around and the steering is rack-and-pinion. A Wilwood manual 4-wheel disc brake system handles stopping duties. Those wheels are Forgeline with Michelin Sport Cup 2 gatorbacks.

Beautifully done automobile for one of the funniest guys on the planet.
